How to Talk about Restorative Justice?

Abstract

The article is a collection of reflections on the idea and practice of applying the assumptions of restorative justice in the world. These reflections are inspired by the papers on the axiological conditions of the application of restorative justice presented at the conference entitled papers on the axiological conditions of the application of restorative justice presented at the conference entitled “Conference (on) Restorative Justice”. On November 22, 2024, the Faculty of Law Administration and Economics initiated a debate on restorative justice institutions that operate in Poland, Canada and the United States. Relevant to the discussion was the conviction that restorative justice should be the path followed by the justice system and the practice of public administration in Poland. This, of course, requires financial outlays and the development of well-motivated personnel, but in view of the constitutional proclamation of the principle of the common good and the principle of a democratic legal state realizing the principles of social justice, this is now the standard. which should be expected.
